flydubai launches daily service to Langkawi and Penang in Malaysia

flydubai, has announced the launch of daily flights to Langkawi and Penang in Malaysia, making it the first carrier to connect these popular destinations with the UAE and the Middle East. The flights are set to begin on February 10, 2024. Passengers traveling to Langkawi will have a short stopover in Penang, providing convenient travel options via Dubai’s aviation hub.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, the CEO of flydubai, expressed their excitement about expanding their presence in Southeast Asia, emphasizing the importance of these flights for tourism and business connectivity. The new routes are expected to attract passengers from the UAE, GCC, and European markets.

With this expansion, flydubai now serves four destinations in Southeast Asia, including Krabi and Pattaya in Thailand. The airline will operate the Malaysian routes with Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, offering lie-flat seats in Business Class and a comfortable travel experience in Economy Class.

In addition to the Malaysian routes, flydubai has also recently announced operations to three other destinations: Cairo (starting October 28), Poznan in Poland (starting October 29), and Mombasa (joining the network on January 17, 2024).

Flights to Langkawi and Penang will depart daily from Terminal 3 at Dubai International (DXB). Return fares from DXB to PEN start at AED 11,000 for Business Class and AED 2,700 for Economy Class Lite. Return fares from DXB to LGK start at AED 11,000 for Business Class and AED 3,500 for Economy Class Lite.
